WordishPrivacy Policy
Wordish is built with restraint — and that extends to your data. You don't create an account, and we never ask for your name, email, or any personal details to use the app. This policy explains the little we do collect and why.
The short version
- No sign-up, no personal profile. Wordish works the moment you open it.
- We store your learning progress so your streak and words follow you — tied to a random, anonymous identifier, not to you personally.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising or third-party trackers.
What we collect
An anonymous device identifier
When you first open Wordish, the app generates a random identifier on your device. It contains no personal information and cannot be traced back to you. We use it only to associate your learning progress with your install so it can be synced and restored.
Your learning activity
To power streaks, review, and your word web, we store the words you've learned, your daily completions and streak, quiz activity, and your in-app preferences (such as your daily goal and reminder settings).
Subscription status
If you subscribe, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We receive your subscription status (active or not) through our payments partner so we can unlock premium features. We never see or store your card or payment details.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- Your precise location.
- Any advertising identifiers, and we run no third-party ad or analytics trackers.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, Wordish sends optional notifications through Apple's push service to help you keep your streak. You can turn these off any time in the app or in your iPhone's Settings.
Who processes data on our behalf
We keep our stack small and rely on a few trusted providers strictly to run the service:
- Cloudflare — hosting and the database that stores your learning progress.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status on our behalf.
- Apple — the App Store, in-app purchases, and push notifications.
How long we keep it
We retain your learning progress for as long as your install is active so your streak and words are there when you return. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see below).
Your choices
- Reset your progress from within the app.
- Turn reminders on or off whenever you like.
- Ask us to delete the data associated with your install by emailing hello@wordish.app.
Children
Wordish is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and revise the date above.
